Startups Will Change the Future of Pakistan – Apply Now

May 29, 2021

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have launched the National Expansion Plan of NICs, an initiative to build a network of technology incubation centers across Pakistan. The goal is to support entrepreneurial activity on a national level and create opportunities across the country. We are pleased to announce that the applications for all centers are now open. We encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to apply with their startup idea on their preferable locations on the official website (http://nep.pitb.gov.pk)

The program is designed to support early-stage startups. Based on a Zero Equity Model, each cycle runs for a duration of six months where all resources are geared towards facilitating and enabling the startup founders to optimize their business activity. Following are the services offered:

  • Monthly stipend
  • Free workspace
  • Networking Opportunities
  • Mentorship
  • Business Development Assistance
  • Legal guidance

We are opening centers in six regions and 13 centers will be opened across Pakistan.

  • Punjab (Lahore, Gujrat, Taxila, Rawalpindi)
  • Balochistan (Quetta, Lasbela)
  • Sindh (Karachi, Jamshoro and Sukkur)
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Kohat, Swat)
  • Gilgit Baltistan (GB)
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Muzaffarabad)

Startup ideas and entrepreneurs with the potential to change the future are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. Pakistan had made a lasting impression in the field of science and information sector globally. Today Pakistan is moving towards fulfilling the aspirations of its 22 crore citizens. NEP will work as a catalyst in paving the way for innovation-led initiatives across the nation for early-stage startups.

National Expansion Plan of NICs is about creating prosperity in Pakistan. Many individuals who dream of starting their own business lack the resources to do so. As a result, their ideas, talent and capabilities remain untapped and the country loses out on economic growth and employment.

National Expansion Plan of NICs will help boost entrepreneurship and economic development in Pakistan – by ensuring that people who have the potential to innovate and start their own business are encouraged providing them with proactive support and free of cost services at multiple levels.
